With state House members Rick Roth and David Silvers already in the race, Boca Raton Deputy Mayor Yvette Drucker announced Friday she will run in 2026 for a seat that will be vacated by term-limited Sen. Lori Berman, D-Boca Raton.

Drucker, a Democrat, was first elected to the Boca Raton City Council in 2021 and was reelected in March.

“I am ready to bring my passion and experience to the state Senate and continue the remarkable work Lori Berman has done fighting for Democratic values and standing up to extremism in Tallahassee,” Drucker said in a prepared statement Friday.

Roth, R-West Palm Beach, and Silvers, D-Lake Clarke Shores, will leave the House this year because of term limits.

Roth opened a campaign account in January to try to succeed Berman in Palm Beach County’s Senate District 26, while Silvers opened an account last year, according to the state Division of Elections website.
