An All-American pop star and a popular American football star fall madly in love. Finally, a feel-good story we can all embrace, right?

Well, not so fast — not when the entire romance is a conspiracy!

At least that’s what a depressing number of our former president’s most ardent fans in the media are gently, and not so gently, hinting. For example, right-wing commentator Benny Johnson definitely smells a rat.

“Sure seems planned. Sure seems like something that is, like, concocted in order to accelerate the fame of these two people,” the former Buzzfeed writer . “[A]nd then they use that in order to try and save Joe Biden!”

And then the men in the white coats come to drag Johnson away, and we all live happily ever after. If only!

Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers should be a great game, but it appears many MAGA true believers will be spitting out their beer every time Swift’s face is shown on TV. Just an innocent photo op? Or a conspiratorial government op?

Recent Trump Republican presidential primary opponent turned fawning Trump fan Vivek Ramaswamy “I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl? And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped up couple?”

Mike Crispi, host on right-wing Salem Media, makes no bones when tweeting . “The NFL is totally RIGGED for the Kansas City Chiefs, Taylor Swift, Mr. Pfizer (Travis Kelce). All to ֱ DEMOCRAT PROPAGANDA. Calling it now: KC wins, goes to Super Bowl, Swift comes out at the halftime show and “endorses” Joe Biden with Kelce at midfield. It’s all been an op since day one.”

You tell’em, Mikey!

Fox News host Sean Hannity can’t believe that such a pretty, successful, wholesome young woman as Swift is also a Democrat. She has to be misguided, right? “Maybe Taylor Swift just bought into all the lies about Republicans,” , “that they are racist and sexist and homophobic and xenophobic and Islamophobic, and that they want a total ban on abortion.”

Or maybe she has access to radio, television and the internet and has read some of the random thoughts of Donald Trump?

Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt is about the whole thing, believing that whatever Swift says or does will have little impact, because “I don’t think people are going to take advice from someone who flies around on a private jet [and] has private security.”

Wait, who do you work for again, Ms. Leavitt?

Meanwhile, CBS is jumping with glee about an expected record breaking TV audience, including a formidable number of Swifties who will tune in just to see glimpses of their heroine cheerleading for her boyfriend in the Chiefs’ private box. I suppose the MAGA conspiracy crowd will tune in to root for the 49ers; right wingers rooting for San Francisco? Never thought I’d see the day. Of course, as a charter member of the “lamestream media,” maybe CBS orchestrated the entire conspiracy!

So be prepared Sunday evening for Swift to pull a reverse Kanye West at the Super Bowl halftime show, snatch the microphone away from Usher and scream “Joe Biden for president!”

Hey, stranger things have happened, right?
